Nha Trang Trip Cost Calculator: Hotels, Food, Transport and Tours

Using the calculator #

Enter everyone aged 18 or over as an adult, select each child's age and set the number of nights, then check the suggested room count. Leave the fare boxes empty until you have real prices for your flights. A blank box is not the same as zero: enter 0 only when nothing is payable, such as a child who travels free or a stay with friends.

Where each number comes from #

Room rates by star rating are two reference averages Booking.com showed for Nha Trang on October 20, 2026: its overall average and its average for the weekend of October 24-25. They are not minimum and maximum rates, nor the price of any particular hotel. The listed rates do not specify occupancy or taxes, so the calculator provisionally treats each as a nightly room rate; once you have a quote, choose Enter your own rate.

The two food levels add up prices from local eateries in our guide to Nha Trang food. Budget means fish noodle soup for breakfast, banh can for lunch and nem nuong for dinner; comfortable swaps the nem nuong for a sit-down fish dinner of four or five dishes. Seafood sold by the kilo is left out, because the price depends on what you pick and how much it weighs.

Rides around town use the published Grab and Green SM fares for the province; per-minute charges assume 15-30 km/h, so rush hour or rain can push the app price higher.

Ticket prices come from our individual guides, and lines where the child price is unclear carry their own note. Pick the 4-island tour and the calculator adds the Nha Trang Bay entrance fee, collected since September 25, 2025, at VND40,000 per person for the full route; some tours include it and some collect it separately, so that line runs from zero to VND40,000.

How children's tickets are counted #

The Oceanographic Museum and the bay entrance fee are free for children under 6; the museum sells school pupil tickets at VND10,000, so the calculator uses that price for ages 6-17, and it is worth bringing a school ID. The Po Nagar towers let children in free, but the age limit is unconfirmed, so the estimate allows VND0-30,000 per child.

VinWonders goes by height instead: VND800,000 from 100 cm to under 140 cm, free under 100 cm. The mud baths also price children by height, each with its own limits: Thap Ba (Tháp Bà) Mud Bath charges the child rate from 1 m to 1.4 m, I-Resort from 1 m to under 1.5 m, so children between 1.4 m and 1.5 m are counted from the child rate to the adult rate. Children under 1 m are not counted, because you need to ask first whether a hot mud soak is suitable for them.

The sources we read give no standard child price for island tours, sunset cruises or the airport bus, so the calculator never assumes a free place: children 6 and over are counted at the adult price, under-6s from free up to the adult price. Among the cruises, Nemo Yacht is free for children under 6 and Emperor Cruises for under-5s. For other operators, ask for a fare based on your child's exact age when booking. Airlines and trains set their own age bands for child fares, so if your children differ in age, enter the average in the per-child box.

Extras and included meals #

Use Anything else to add spending without its own line, such as drinks, seafood or tips. We would set aside a separate amount for a seafood dinner, the meal most likely to run over budget; ask the price per kilo and any cooking charge before it goes on the scale.

Meals are the easiest thing to count twice. A shared 4-island tour normally includes lunch, and afternoon cruises usually serve dinner on board, though not every package lists it in the price. When you pick either, the calculator deducts that meal: lunch at the price of the banh can meal, dinner at your chosen food level. Untick it under Food if your package has no meal.

Where to save, and where not to #

Your room is the most flexible cost. Streets just behind the seafront, around Hung Vuong (Hùng Vương) and Biet Thu (Biệt Thự), usually cost less than a sea view and are still a short walk from the beach. Compare the same hotel across your possible travel dates. If you travel in the rainy months at the end of the year, choose a rate with free cancellation in case your boat day has to move.

On a three-day trip, VinWonders and the island tour each want most of a day. If arrival and departure take up most of two days, choose one. An extra night makes it easier to give both a full day. Grouping the Po Nagar towers, Hon Chong and a mud bath north of the Cai (Cái) River into one outing also saves a few rides.

A couple with light bags landing in daytime will save noticeably by taking the airport bus. In a group of four, a taxi works out at around VND62,500-112,500 each per trip, not far off the VND50,000 bus fare, and it drops you at your hotel door. One thing we would not cut corners on: do not send a deposit for a room or tour through a channel you have not been able to verify, however good the price looks.

Example: two people, three days #

Two people stay in a 3-star hotel, eat at local places, take a taxi from the airport, book two car rides a day and join the 4-island tour with lunch, plus the Po Nagar towers, Hon Chong and a mud bath, following the three-day itinerary in our travel guide. The calculator puts this at VND3,800,000 - 6,670,000 for both, or about VND1,902,000 - 3,332,000 each (roughly US$74-130 at the October 20 rate), before flights. Accommodation and the island tour alone account for VND1,824,000 - 3,558,000 of this estimate. Add both travelers' return fares and any extra spending to plan your overall budget.
