Nha Trang Mud Bath Guide: Where to Go, What to Wear and What to Bring
A mud bath makes an easy break between beach and sightseeing days. The main choices range from hot-spring parks outside town to a hotel spa downtown and a resort on Hon Tam Island (Hòn Tằm).

Your choice will depend on how much time you have, where you are staying and who is coming with you. Each has a different feel, and pricing varies by venue. At Thap Ba and I-Resort, larger groups sharing a tub pay less per person, so it pays to pick the right one before you set off.
Mud bath or mineral soak: what you are paying for #
At the mainland sites, a mud bath ticket usually has two parts. First comes a tub of hot mineral mud, where both Thap Ba (Tháp Bà) and I-Resort recommend staying about 20 minutes; at Thap Ba the mud is heated to 37-39°C. After that you rinse off under a shower and move on to the hot mineral water: soaking pools, a mineral swimming pool, jacuzzis and waterfalls.
A mineral-only ticket skips the mud tub and costs less: VND120,000 at Thap Ba and VND200,000 at I-Resort, where it also covers the water park. If all you want is warm water and a swim, that is enough. If you have come this far, we think the mud is worth trying at least once.
The word "private" can mislead. A private tub here means a tub reserved for your group, not a private room. At Thap Ba and I-Resort, the price per person falls as more people share the tub. Solo travelers can still book; you simply pay the rate for the smallest tub.
The five mud baths at a glance #
The table lists adult mud bath prices from each site's published price list, checked on October 8, 2026. Thap Ba's online booking page currently shows a discount on the posted rate, so compare both before you pay.

Which mud bath suits you #
Thap Ba: the classic, and the easiest to combine
The Thap Ba mud bath center is at 438 Ngo Den Street (Ngô Đến), north of the Cai River (sông Cái), a short ride from the Po Nagar Cham Towers (Tháp Bà Ponagar). The standard hot mud package covers 20 minutes in your group's mud tub, 30 minutes soaking in hot mineral water, the jacuzzis and the mineral pools, with swimwear, a towel, a locker and a bottle of water included.
The posted price is VND350,000 per person for a tub of one or two, VND300,000 for three to five and VND260,000 for six or more. Children from 1 m to 1.4 m tall pay VND150,000 and share the tub with an adult. For more privacy there is the Nui Spa (Núi Spa) area, from VND1,000,000 for one guest.
For a first mud bath, or for a big group, this is our pick: the price drops noticeably as the tub fills up. Its location is the real advantage. Towers in the morning, mud in the afternoon and Hon Chong (Hòn Chồng) at the end of the day, all without long drives.
I-Resort: room to spread out, plus a water park
I-Resort sits in Xuan Ngoc (Xuân Ngọc), Tay Nha Trang Ward (phường Tây Nha Trang), about 4 km from the center, on 12 hectares of grounds. It opens from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and stops selling tickets and admitting guests at 4:30 p.m. Under its price list for the year, a mud bath ticket includes 20 minutes in the tub and use of the whole hot spring area: VND400,000 per person for a tub of one to three, VND350,000 for four to ten and VND200,000 per child.
Children under 1 m tall get in free with an adult, and those from 1 m to under 1.5 m pay the child rate. The water park slides are for guests 1.4 m and taller. Outside food and drink are not allowed, apart from baby food, so plan on lunch at the restaurant inside.
Families with small children will find I-Resort the most relaxed choice, with a kids' pool, the water park and plenty of loungers. Arrive before lunch if you want time for both the mud bath and the pools.
Tram Trung: egg-shaped tubs on the airport road
Tram Trung, also signed as 100 Egg, is on Nguyen Tat Thanh Boulevard (đại lộ Nguyễn Tất Thành), about 8 km south of the center, on more than 20 hectares. Its signature is a set of soaking tubs shaped like eggs. The Relax package costs VND350,000 per adult and VND250,000 per child, with a choice of warm mud or a herbal soak, plus the pools, jacuzzi, waterfall, towel, swimwear and a locker. It opens daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Tram Trung allows outside food for a surcharge, which suits groups planning to combine a mud bath with a picnic. Because it sits on the road to Cam Ranh Airport (about 35 km from the city center; allow 45-60 minutes by car), it is also easy to fit in on your arrival or departure day; ask in advance whether they can hold your luggage.
Galina: downtown, and open into the evening
Galina Mud Bath & Spa is inside the Galina Hotel at 31 Hung Vuong Street (Hùng Vương), in the middle of the tourist district. The hot mud package is VND380,000 per adult and VND150,000 per child, and includes the dry sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and pool. It opens from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and you need to book at least two hours ahead; when booking, confirm the session length and latest arrival time.
You give up the gardens and river views of the out-of-town sites. In return, many hotels around Hung Vuong and Tran Phu (Trần Phú) are within walking distance, and it stays open late. It is the simple option if your only free time is the evening, if you are traveling alone, or on a wet day when you would rather not ride across town.
Hon Tam: a mud bath on an island, on the boat's schedule
Hon Tam is an island in the bay with a resort that has mud tubs under the trees, mineral pools, a beach and sun loungers. Going there means giving it the whole day: the boat out in the morning, lunch, a soak in the afternoon and back to shore on the resort's schedule. It suits couples, families traveling with older relatives, or anyone who needs a slower day after several busy ones. Torn between islands? Our island quiz is a fun way to decide.

Hon Tam prices vary from one booking site to the next, so we have not listed a figure. When you book, ask the resort directly whether the package includes the round-trip boat, which pier it leaves from and whether lunch is included. In rough weather boats only run when they are cleared to leave port, so keep a mainland option in reserve. If you swim from the beach, stay inside the buoyed area while lifeguards are on duty and follow the warning flags. For other boat trips around the bay, see our island guide.

How a mud bath session works #
At the ticket counter you choose the package and the number of people sharing your tub, then collect towels, swimwear and a locker key. Change, lock up your things and take a quick shower before getting into the tub.
The mud tub is the main event. Step in slowly, sit back against the side, let the mud come up to your shoulders and relax. If you want photos, have one person in your group hold the phone from outside the tub. When the time is up, rinse off under the shower and move on to the hot mineral water; Thap Ba recommends 30-35 minutes for that part.
The rest is up to you: the mineral pool, jacuzzis, waterfalls, a lounger. Both Thap Ba and I-Resort advise against washing with soap after your soak. For a mainland visit, allow roughly two to three hours including travel, or longer if you want more time at I-Resort's pools and water park.
We suggest going on a weekday morning or in the early afternoon. Many of the pools are outdoors, and sitting out in the midday sun gets tiring. Do not soak on a full stomach; a light meal about an hour before is about right.
What to wear and what to bring #
Thap Ba and I-Resort allow swimsuits, bikinis, or a sleeveless top with shorts above the knee. Thap Ba prohibits denim and wool. I-Resort also excludes khakis, long or heavy clothing, and garments with buttons, zips or hard decorations. Tram Trung asks for proper swimwear in the pools rather than everyday clothes. I-Resort also asks guests to take off beaded rings, anklets, necklaces, metal watches, stone bracelets and glasses.
Mud bath tickets at Thap Ba, I-Resort and Galina, and Tram Trung's Relax package, include swimwear and towels, so you do not have to bring your own. Tram Trung's FAQ still suggests bringing a swimsuit, a towel and a change of clothes. If you prefer your own swimsuit, pick a dark or older one; mud is hard to wash completely out of light fabric.
At I-Resort, you can pay online or at reception; cash and card payments are accepted at the ticket counter. For the other sites, carry enough cash for the ticket and ask at the counter whether they take cards. Tie long hair up before you get in; mud in your hair takes a long time to wash out.
Health precautions for hot mud baths #
A mud bath is a way to relax, not a medical treatment. If you have a heart condition, high blood pressure or another chronic illness, ask your doctor whether hot mud baths, mineral pools and saunas are suitable for you, and what limits to follow.
The same goes for pregnancy: check with your doctor before a hot mud or mineral soak. If in doubt, skip the hot pools and simply enjoy the grounds. At I-Resort, pregnant women and people with heart conditions may not use the water slides.
With children, an adult needs to stay right beside them and watch them the whole time, including in the mud tub. At Thap Ba, children 1 m to 1.4 m tall share a tub with an adult; the kids' pool is 0.8 m deep and the adults' warm pool 1.45 m, and anyone who cannot swim must use a float or life jacket, provided free. I-Resort requires children to wear life jackets. For very young children, ask the staff how long a soak is suitable, and check with a doctor first if your child has a health condition.
Getting there and combining with Po Nagar and Hon Chong #
From the Tran Phu beachfront, take a taxi, a ride-hailing app or a motorbike; if you ride, agree on the parking fee before handing over the key. The Thap Ba mud baths are north of the river and I-Resort is in Tay Nha Trang Ward, If you are staying in the north of the city, near Hon Chong, the towers and a mud bath fit easily into the same day.
For a full day out, start at the Po Nagar Cham Towers while the brick terrace is still cool (open 6 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., VND30,000), then have lunch nearby and a mud bath in the early afternoon, and end at Hon Chong (VND30,000) in the late-afternoon light. That order keeps you inside the mud bath ticket hours and saves the best light for the rocks.

Is a mud bath a good rainy-day plan? #
Roughly September to December is Nha Trang's rainy season, and a mud bath is one of the things that still works in light rain. Warm mud under a drizzle has its own charm. Hon Tam, though, depends on whether the boats are running. For a sense of the rain, see what December usually brings or compare the seasons in the month-by-month guide.
If heavy rain or flooding is forecast, postpone the outing and follow local authorities' instructions, including any advice to leave your accommodation. Call the mud bath first to check that it is open.
Nha Trang mud bath FAQ #
How much is a mud bath in Nha Trang?
Listed adult prices as of October 2026 are VND260,000-350,000 at Thap Ba and VND350,000-400,000 at I-Resort, depending on group size; Tram Trung's Relax package is VND350,000 and Galina is VND380,000. Hon Tam sells packages that include the boat, so ask the resort before booking.
Do I need to bring a swimsuit?
No. Mud bath tickets at Thap Ba, I-Resort and Galina, and Tram Trung's Relax package, include swimwear and towels. If you wear your own, bring swimwear and check your chosen venue's dress rules; Thap Ba and I-Resort also allow sleeveless tops with shorts above the knee. Bring sandals and dry clothes to change into.
Can children take a mud bath?
The venues cater for children, but check whether a hot mud soak is suitable for your child and how long it should last, and stay beside them throughout. At Thap Ba, children 1 m to 1.4 m tall share a tub with an adult and pay VND150,000. At I-Resort, children under 1 m get in free, those from 1 m to under 1.5 m pay the child rate, and all children must wear life jackets. If your child has a health condition, ask a doctor first.
How long does a mud bath take?
About 20 minutes in the mud, then a rinse and around 30 minutes in hot mineral water. With travel and rest, a mainland visit takes two to three hours. At Galina, confirm the session length when you book.
Thap Ba or I-Resort: which is better?
Thap Ba is easier to combine with the Po Nagar towers and Hon Chong, and gets much cheaper per person for bigger groups. I-Resort is larger, with a water park and a kids' pool, and suits families who want to stay a while. Remember the ticket cutoffs: 4:30 p.m. at I-Resort, 5 p.m. at Thap Ba.
Can I go on my own?
Yes. Thap Ba sells tickets for a tub of one or two and I-Resort for one to three, at a higher per-person rate than for groups. Galina and Tram Trung charge per person. Galina asks for bookings at least two hours ahead.
